Our Starting Point

If you are looking at this page you either came here by accident in which case you’re very welcome to stay and read some more or you’re thinking of standing for election or planning an election campaign and may not know where to start. If you are a member of one of the big three political parties in the UK, the Labour Party, The Conservatives or the Liberal Democrats, you probably have access to other people in your campaign team who have done this before so talk to them.

This site is for the benefit of independents, local campaign groups and those who represent smaller political parties where branches may not be established everywhere and where the experience of electoral campaigning may be limited.

Most elections fought by such groups are local elections so some of the language used on this site relates to ward level or even polling district level campaigning. I am going to assume that you do not have unlimited resources in terms of people, money or time, but have to prioritise your activities.
